Harrison Ford at the Box Office - 50 Years

Jetset Magazine is an online and print resource covering America’s most affluent lifestyles. Popular topics range from high fashion to luxury cars. A recent Jetset Magazine cover story profiled actor and private aviator Harrison Ford and his 50-year career as an actor.

Harrison Ford has enjoyed considerable success during his time in Hollywood, with films in which he has starred grossing more than $6.2 billion at the box office globally. Ford’s most lucrative and iconic roles have also been his most enduring. His third film, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, began one of the largest, most financially successful media franchises of all time in 1977, with his character Han Solo returning in the 2019 film Rise of Skywalker. He first appeared as Indiana Jones, meanwhile, in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, and is scheduled to make a fifth appearance as the archaeologist-adventurer in 2022.

Of course, Star Wars and Indiana Jones represent just a fraction of Ford’s resume. In 1982, he played the part of Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, a role he reprised in the 2017 follow-up Blade Runner 2049. Throughout the 1990s, Ford enjoyed roles in a string of highly successful action films and thrillers, including Patriot Games, The Fugitive, Clear and Present Danger, and Air Force One, to name a few.

Ford most recently appeared as John Thornton in The Call of the Wild, which grossed $107.3 million despite its domestic theatrical run being significantly hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
